Bhadrakali Navaratri, Day 6 (Moola Nakshatram): Bhavani Alankaram

Moola Nakshatram Saraswati puja, and the goddess as Bhavani, with Katyayani durgarchana. Chanda-Munda vadha durgarchana and Salabhanjika seva at 7 pm. Nityahnikam at 4 am every day. Darshan 4 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 8 pm (madhyahna puja 12 to 1). Part of the Sri Bhadrakali Devi Sharannavaratri (Dasara) Mahotsavam, 11 to 21 October 2026.

Significance: Moola nakshatram is the star of Saraswati, so books and instruments are placed before the goddess and children often begin learning (aksharabhyasam). Bhavani is the goddess as the giver of life and protector of devotees. Katyayani, the sixth Durga, is the warrior form born to destroy Mahishasura.
