Get a learner's licence (LL)
Apply online, book a slot and take the LL test at your District Transport Office.

Steps

Check your age. 16 or older for a gearless motorcycle (with a parent's declaration), 18 or older for other non-transport vehicles, 20 or older for transport vehicles.

Keep documents ready: address proof (Aadhaar, passport, voter ID, utility bill and similar) and date-of-birth proof (education certificate, passport or birth certificate). You also need Form 2 (application) and Form 1 (self-declaration). Form 1A (medical certificate) is needed for transport vehicles and if you are over 40.

Apply online and book a test slot on the Transport Department portal. The department does not accept manual applications. The portal has a demo test you can practise on.

Pay the fee online while booking.
- 5
Go to the DTO on your slot with original documents and take the LL test.
