Vennamuddala Bathukamma (Day 8)

The eighth day. The offering is vennamuddalu: butter with sesame and jaggery. Day 8 of the nine days of Bathukamma, 10 to 18 October 2026. Women stack seasonal flowers such as gunuka and tangedu into a Bathukamma, sing and dance around it in the evening, and later set it afloat in a tank or lake.

Significance: Named after vennamuddalu, balls of butter (or ghee) with sesame and jaggery, a rich offering on the eve of the finale.
