The grand finale, on Durgashtami: the biggest Bathukammas of the year, five kinds of saddulu (curd, tamarind, lemon, coconut and sesame rice), and Bathukammas floated on the tanks at night. Day 9 of the nine days of Bathukamma, 10 to 18 October 2026. Women stack seasonal flowers such as gunuka and tangedu into a Bathukamma, sing and dance around it in the evening, and later set it afloat in a tank or lake.
Significance: Saddi means cooked food: five kinds of flavoured rice (saddulu) are made and shared. The largest Bathukammas are built, women sing and dance until late, then float them on tanks and lakes, sending Gauri off until next year. It falls on Durgashtami.
